Meetings
First transnational Workshop – Tübingen (Germany) – from 11th / 13th January 2008, focus on women/ kick-off meeting
During the first transnational meeting, partners discuss the following points:
- Presentation of the Project by the legal representative of ATHENA
- Presentation of each partner
- Organizational matters
- Identification of each partner’s role, discussion of the timetable and the workshops (second workshop in Kuressaare, third workshop in Wales, fourth workshop in Tubingen and Final conference with presentation of the results and the project’s products in Palermo)
- Identification of the disadvantaged learners (people from rural areas – focus for the workshop in Estonia, teachers and trainers of adults – focus for the workshop in United Kingdom, unemployed persons - focus for the workshop in Germany)
- Identification of the project’s products: Elaboration of Questionnaires to be submitted to the learners about the obstacles and difficulties towards the Life Long Learning to be evaluated, Web site, brochure, CD-Roms.
- Evaluation of the first meeting.
Presentation and discussion about the obstacles towards long life learning for women.
Second transnational Workshop – Kuressaare (Estonia) – from 13th / 15th June 2008, focus on People living in rural areas
- Presentation by each partner of the Life Long Learning’s obstacles and motivation difficulties for those who live in rural areas.
- Identification of the common obstacles and successive identification of solutions. The Yale College experience has been identified as best practice for all the tools that have been already developed by the partner.
- Visit in rural area of Saaremaa of learners.
Third Transnational Meeting - Wrexham (United Kingdom) 13th to 16th November 2008, focus on teachers and trainers
- Presentation of the questionnaires’ analysis and discussion about the main results, the specificities for some countries
- Necessity of reflection about some particular results in countries.
- Presentation of good practices of the Yale college.
Activities
- Survey by each partner on the socio-economic regional/ national context;
- Identification of good practices to bring into the project;
- Identification of difficulties for disadvantaged people to enter LLL (motivation and material difficulties);
- Identification of solutions which could be applicable in all the countries / socio-economic contexts;
- Preparation of the graphic documents to be produced;
- Elaboration of reports;
- Predisposition of materials to be included in the final handbook;
- Sensitization of private/public bodies about the project;
Results achieved
- Questionnaires filled by learners in each partner country
- Creation of the website of the project: http://www.sms4eu.eu/
Fourths Transnational Meeting - Tübingen (Germany) 11th to 15th March 2009, focus on unemployed.
- principal issue: "unemployed people"
- principal discussion: evaluation of the questionnaires (second
part!) and the contents of the brochure + preparation of the last meeting in
Sicily + a brief communication/diffusion plan by each partner. - Workshop: Collecting best practice examples.
Fiths Transnational Meeting - Palermo (Italy) 25th to 28th June 2009.
- principal issue: presentation of the achieved results (main obstacles to
the participation by disadvantaged people to LLP procedures & best
practices).
